This weekend, Taku and I enjoyed the Labor Thanksgiving Day long weekend, the second holiday we’ve had this November, the first being the Culture Day (文化の日) long weekend we spent traveling.

Fukuoka was full of events! We had a chance to enjoy both old and new culture with a “light up walk” where various temples, shrines, and other sites around the city were specially lit up for nighttime viewing, as well as the yearly illuminations, where tons of Christmas lights are put up around Hakata station, creating a ‘winter wonderland’, despite us being in subtropical Kyushu. It was also unseasonably warm this weekend, so everyone was out in droves.
